Highland Academy is an independent school in Absecon, NJ that enrolls children in preschool through 8th grade. The Academy has been operating since 2001. Highland Academy serves a diverse student body, within peer diverse classrooms, with low teacher to student ratios. The Academy utilizes project-based instruction and students tackle a challenging curriculum in ways that are engaging, meaningful and adaptable to a variety of learning styles. NJ core standards are used as a guideline and complemented with a focus on Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences and William Glasser’s Theory of Choice Theory.
Aside from an excellent academic record, Highland Academy is loved by parents and students for the supportive school community. The school is an extended family that supports its’ families in and out of the classroom. There are many celebrations, student performances, special gatherings and events that foster a sense of community for students, teachers, and parents.

Highland Academy’s Summer’s Cool Camp was established in 1996. Our camp provides every camper with unique opportunities to learn through play. Activities and challenges vary by age, interest,and individual talents. We offer a safe, fun, and loving environment that encourages new friendships, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
