Highland Academy is an independent school in Galloway Township, NJ that enrolls children in preschool through 9th grade. The Academy has been family owned and operated in Galloway since 2001. Our caring staff has over 50 years educational experience and includes specialists in art and music.
Highland Academy serves an intellectually diverse student body in mixed-age classrooms with low student to classroom teacher ratios. Our educational philosophy is based upon the pioneer educator, Dr. Howard Gardner and his "Theory of Multiple Intelligence." as wel as "Choice Theory". Students are taught fundamental academic skills and content in Language Arts, Math, Natural and Social Sciences, Computer Technology and the Arts. Classroom learning is supplemented by field trips, community service projects, academic competitions, and other hands on learning opportunities.
Aside from an excellent academic record Highland Academy is loved by parents and students for the supportive school community, the school is an extended family that supports it's families in and out of the classroom.There are many celebrations,student performances,special gatherings and events that foster a sense of community for students, teachers, and parents.
